Position 1: Senior 3 Waters Engineer
NZ$135,000 - NZ$165,000 per annum
The Role:
The company is seeking a talented Senior 3 Waters Engineer to join their Hamilton office. This role offers the opportunity to provide specialist stormwater, wastewater and potable water engineering services across a diverse portfolio of land development projects while helping to expand their capabilities in the Waikato region.
   
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement comprehensive 3 Waters solutions for land development projects
  • Lead stormwater management system design including detention, treatment and conveyance
  • Develop wastewater collection and conveyance systems for subdivisions and developments
  • Design potable water supply and distribution networks
  • Model hydraulic systems and water quality impacts using industry-standard software
  • Prepare 3 Waters design reports and specifications for consent applications
  • Develop sediment and erosion control designs for construction phases
  • Provide technical oversight during construction of 3 Waters infrastructure
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and local authorities on water engineering matters
  • Support the wider engineering team with specialist water expertise
  • Contribute to growing the company's 3 Waters engineering capabilities
   
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related field
  • CPEng with 5+ years' relevant experience in 3 Waters engineering
  • Strong knowledge of stormwater, wastewater and potable water design in land development contexts
  • Experience with hydraulic modelling software
  • Knowledge of NZ environmental legislation and consent processes relevant to water infrastructure
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with required design software tools
  • Valid NZ driver's licence
  • Commercial awareness and client-focused approach
  
   
Position 2: Principal 3 Waters Engineer / Partner Track
NZ$180,000 - NZ$220,000 per annum + partnership opportunities
The Role:
The company is looking for an experienced Principal 3 Waters Engineer to lead their water engineering division and drive strategic growth. This senior leadership position offers a clear pathway to partnership for exceptional candidates who can demonstrate business development capabilities alongside technical excellence in water infrastructure design.
   
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-level 3 Waters engineering expertise and strategic direction across complex land development projects
  • Lead the technical design of major stormwater, wastewater and water supply systems
  • Develop innovative and cost-effective water management solutions for challenging sites
  • Oversee hydraulic modelling and analysis for significant developments
  • Drive business development and build client relationships in the Waikato region
  • Lead and grow the 3 Waters engineering team, developing capabilities and mentoring staff
  • Collaborate with directors and project managers on strategic initiatives
  • Represent the company in negotiations with territorial authorities and water utilities
  • Guide projects through regulatory approval processes
  • Manage team performance and project delivery
  • Contribute to company strategy and growth
   
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related field
  • CPEng with 10+ years' experience in 3 Waters engineering, including team leadership
  • Proven track record in stormwater, wastewater and potable water design for land development
  • Advanced expertise in hydraulic modelling and analysis
  • Extensive knowledge of NZ water infrastructure standards and consent processes
  • Strong business development experience and commercial acumen
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to develop and lead high-performing technical teams
  • Valid NZ driver's licence
