The Opportunity
This organisation is in a strong growth phase, having recently secured significant new urban and specialised transport contracts. To support this expansion, two senior leadership roles have been established, each with responsibility for driving operational performance, customer service, safety, and team leadership across complex transport networks.
As part of the senior operations team, you will be tasked with leading high-performing teams, ensuring contractual compliance, optimising day-to-day operations, and introducing new ways of working through technology and process improvements. Both roles are pivotal in delivering safe, reliable, and customer-focused transport services at scale.
Key Focus Areas
- Provide operational leadership across multi-site or centralised operations
- Lead and develop teams to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality service delivery
- Drive continuous improvement in performance, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Work closely with senior leadership to translate strategy into operational plans
- Manage budgets, reporting and stakeholder engagement at a senior level
- Lead with a strong safety culture and empathetic, people-first approach
We are seeking proven operational leaders with a logistics, transport, or service delivery background. You may have managed large-scale, time-critical operations such as freight, courier, passenger transport, or multi-site service environments.
You will bring:
- 5–10+ years’ leadership in complex logistics or operational environments
- Commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets and P&L accountability
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including with public sector partners
- Calm, decisive leadership under pressure, with strong problem-solving ability
- A people-focused approach, with the ability to motivate, develop and engage diverse teams
- Familiarity with the Auckland region and its transport network will be highly regarded
- Senior roles reporting directly to the Director of Operations
- Opportunities created through long-term contract wins and sustained growth
- Attractive senior remuneration packages, including incentives and (for one role) a vehicle
- Security and stability in a sector experiencing strong demand and expansion
- The chance to play a defining role in shaping modern, customer-focused transport operations
So much of the requirements of each role are the same – you will be a logical and calculated thinker, capable of managing complex operations and adapting with haste to solve logistical challenges as they arise. Where the roles differ is in their focus – one takes charge of a whole new way of managing scheduling, rostering and staff management across the Auckland region via a huge investment in a new system. The other manages staffing and scheduling of a unique staff where the passengers have very individual needs, are highly dependent and where patience is an absolute virtue.
