This is a senior, hands-on leadership position, responsible for the delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects in Aotearoa — major wind developments now in late-stage due diligence, plus broader oversight across a national project portfolio.
You’ll take ownership of the full construction lifecycle, from strategy and procurement to site delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, to budget, and to the highest quality standards. Alongside this, you’ll provide constructability input during project development, and play a key role in stakeholder engagement with councils, iwi, contractors, and partners.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and gain approval for construction strategies and project execution plans.
- Oversee procurement, contract negotiation, and management of OEM/EPC agreements.
- Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, contractors, and consultants.
- Monitor construction schedules, budgets, quality, safety, and compliance.
- Resolve on-site issues, contract disputes, and variations.
- Provide technical and commercial input into project development and due diligence.
- Travel to project sites as needed to ensure successful delivery and handover.
- 10–15+ years’ construction project management experience, including at least 5 years in utility-scale wind or complex infrastructure (dams, large-scale water/wastewater, challenging terrain civil works).
- Proven track record delivering multi-million-dollar EPC/OEM contracts and managing procurement, disputes, and compliance (NZS 3910 or equivalent).
- Strong technical grounding in geotech, civil, electrical, and structural aspects.
- High-level stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
- Degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical) or similar; professional accreditation (PMP, CPEng) advantageous.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word; familiarity with construction/project management software a plus.
A competitive salary range commensurate with the seniority of the role and candidate experience is on offer. You’ll join a collaborative, forward-thinking renewable energy team where your expertise directly shapes the transition to a low-carbon future.
