About the Company
Our client is a thriving engineering company based on the North Shore. They are looking for an experienced and well organized Office Administrator to run a small office. There are no staff reporting to this role and the requirement is for approximately 25 hours of work per week. It is 100% office based – there is no option to work from home but the hours will suit a parent with school aged children. There is on site parking and the office is new and very comfortable.
About the Role
Specific responsibilities will include all aspects of debtors and creditors, GST returns and all IRD related issues, processing of payroll (6 staff), checking supplier invoices and other related clerical accounting tasks. Other duties will include stock control and database management, maintenance of supplier pricing database, assisting with materials management and ordering, organising inwards and outwards goods movements, managing job costing sheets and all office administration tasks associated with running an efficient office. There is plenty of variety and whatever needs to be done will be your responsibility. Interested candidates will be supplied with a position description.
About You
Suitable candidates will have a demonstrated background as an office manager/administrator in a small to medium sized company. Exposure to the nuances of the engineering and/or construction sector will be an advantage. You will need to have an organized and efficient approach and the ability to think on your feet when initiative is required. Good written and verbal communication skills are required to deal with internal staff and suppliers and customers. Strong numerical skills are essential to undertake the accounting aspects of the role and experience with accounting packages such as MYOB or Xero and Excel is required. Above all a flexible and adaptable can-do approach to get the job done will be the key to success.
