Reporting directly to the Tumu Whakarae | Chief Executive, this role will provide the operational leadership that enables Springboard Trust to deliver its strategy, strengthen organisational capability and continue to scale its impact across New Zealand.

The Opportunity
This is a broad executive leadership role with responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the organisation.
Leading experienced managers across programme delivery, finance, people and capability, technology, marketing and communications, you will ensure the organisation operates efficiently, sustainably and in alignment with its purpose.
While strategy has been established, this role is fundamentally about execution .

You will build stronger systems, improve organisational effectiveness, strengthen financial discipline and ensure talented people have the tools, processes and leadership required to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead organisational operations across multiple business functions.
  • Champion a culture aligned with Springboard Trust's values and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen organisational systems, processes and governance.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting and organisational performance.
  • Support programme delivery that creates measurable impact for schools throughout New Zealand.
  • Build trusted relationships with partners, funders, government agencies and key stakeholders.
About You
You are an experienced executive who enjoys making organisations better and you understand that operational excellence and application of Te Tiriti go hand in hand.
You will likely bring:
  • Significant senior operational leadership experience.
  • Success leading multidisciplinary business functions.
  • Strong commercial and financial management capability.
  • Be culturally humble, curious and proactive in the way you build their Te Ao Māori, Tikanga and Te Reo Māori knowledge, skills and understanding.
  • A track record improving organisational systems and processes.
  • Experience leading organisational change.
  • Outstanding people leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop experienced leaders.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
  • A collaborative, pragmatic and values-based leadership style.
Experience within education or the not-for-profit sector is welcomed but not essential. We are interested in exceptional operational leaders who can quickly understand a purpose-driven environment and make a meaningful contribution.
