The Opportunity
As Business Unit Manager, you will take full responsibility for leading all aspects of the business, including sales, operations, product development, and team leadership. Reporting to the CEO of Skellerup Holdings Limited, you will champion a structured and commercial approach to growing revenue and earnings. Your leadership will empower a high-performing team of 23 (including 6 direct reports) to achieve results through collaboration, continuous improvement, and market responsiveness.
You will work closely with key customers, internal stakeholders across the Skellerup Group, and contract manufacturing partners, to meet business objectives and develop innovative products that set the benchmark in the industry.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the creation and execution of a rolling three-year business plan, identifying growth opportunities and implementing strategies to realise them.
- Own and drive business development plans that build profitable, value-adding customer relationships.
- Ensure effective collaboration with internal technical and support functions to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions.
- Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Build and inspire a team culture centred around innovation, accountability, and development.
- Provide clear, insightful performance reporting to inform decision-making and growth.
- A tertiary qualification in business, engineering, or management.
- Experience in a leadership or commercial role in the industrial or manufacturing sectors and seeking progress into a business leadership role.
- Technical background with understanding or appreciation of engineered rubber and plastic products and their manufacturing processes (preferred).
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to assess risk, opportunity, and product profitability.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and team leadership skills.
- A hands-on, adaptable leadership style with a structured approach to problem-solving and operational improvement.
