About the Company
Cuthbert Stewart is a thriving engineering company based in Mt Wellington. They are looking for an experienced and well organized accountant/office administrator who will report to the senior accountant. There are no staff reporting to this role and the requirement is for approximately 27.5 hours of work per week. The role is ideally 100% office based – there is the option to work from home as needs require and the hours will suit a parent with school aged children. There is on-site parking and the office is new and very comfortable.
About the Role
This role will probably suit someone who is an accountant by trade rather than a fully qualified accountant. Specific responsibilities will include all accounting to trial balance, GST returns and all IRD related issues, overseeing and providing back up to payroll (19 staff), checking supplier invoices and other related clerical accounting tasks. Other duties will include maintenance of the supplier pricing database, bank reconciliations and all office administration tasks associated with running an efficient office. There is plenty of variety and whatever needs to be done will be your responsibility. Interested candidates will be supplied with a position description.
About You
Suitable candidates will have a demonstrated background with 10 years or more work experience as an accountant/office administrator in a small to medium sized company. Exposure to the nuances of the engineering and/or construction sector will be an advantage. You will need to have an organized and efficient approach and the ability to think on your feet when initiative is required. Good written and verbal communication skills are required to deal with internal staff and suppliers and customers. Strong numerical skills are essential to undertake the accounting and pricing aspects of the role and experience with accounting packages such as Pronto and Excel is required. Above all a flexible and adaptable can-do approach to get the job done will be the key to success.
