About the Role
This 9–12 month contract is for a hands-on operational specialist who thrives in real workshop environments. You’ll lead 5S implementation, reorganise tooling and storage, establish visual systems, and embed sustainable routines across multiple depots.
Duties
- Lead full 5S rollout across workshops
- Conduct on-site assessments and workflow reviews
- Implement storage, layout and visual management improvements
- Establish daily/weekly standards and routines
- Train and coach workshop teams
- Support pilot site and full multi-site rollout
- Travel between Auckland, Christchurch and regional depots
Skills & Experience
- Proven 5S or Lean implementation in workshops or manufacturing
- Strong practical knowledge of tools, maintenance and workflow realities
- Experience in engineering, transport, construction materials or similar
- Ability to work directly with technicians and supervisors
- Strong coaching, communication and influencing skills
- Comfortable operating in cluttered, legacy environments
- Available for 9–12 months with immediate/near start
